WKF 1.5 region free setting seems not to work at all

Hiya!
I am testing the old wkf I have on my newly megadrive mobo
, but I am having some troubles...
I have updated it to 1.5 and added the USA version of Zelda WW on a wbfs sd.
The system works OK and it boots into the wkf's menu without errors:
and these are the settings I am using (no dvd attached to to the gc)
selecting the ZWW USA game causes a soft reboot, I get the gc logo and after that an eternal black screen...
Selecting a PAL game it works as expected. Tried several NTSC ones, all black screen.
Also checked the wkf dip switch block, all are set to ON since I use a PAL gc.
I have tried so far:
* another SD card , same results.
* another wkf sd-reader, same results
* On the same GC , with the same SD (fat32 formatted ofcourse) but with another wkf that autoboots swiss the same ISO works fine.
* recover to 1.2 and update to 1.5 , works OK without errors
* messing with settings, made no difference as well... (even turning all region settings to OFF, I get the same black screen)
Does anyone know how to solve this? Am I missing something?
