Cobra BIOS is not responding correctly, try again

Hello everyone once again!

First of all, thanks to Emu_kidid for the Viper GC Extreme, I received the Viper and Xeno in brand new condition! Thanks!

And now, I successfully flashed Cobra 2.1 on my Viper, but when I try to load any kind of other program, it gives the error:

Cobra BIOS is not responding correctly, try again

And after that 2 possible reason why it won't respond.
I have all DIP switches on OFF, and I'm in the main menu.
Please DON'T tell me I've got a faulty Viper. BECAUSE I HAVEN'T. :P

Is it a normal problem?

I'm using my old Windows XP laptop for this.

what do you mean with "trying any kind of other program" ?
are you trying to flash .dols to the flash of the viper? if so:

Other programs like 'DOLSendUSB', 'CobraManager' and 'CobraPCView'.

Well, I didn't know anything of this, so I thought everything goes via the FFC cable, but I see now that's only for programming ....
Do I have to put in the Serial port 1?
If yes, I've got to buy a new cube because I removed that port...

There is a manual with about 3 pics; 1 with solder instructions, 1 with placing instructions and 1 with USB adapter instructions, but they don't tell you WHERE to put it... lol...

Hugo, don't feel too bad. I made a similar mistake with my Viper Extreme chip when I installed it 2 years ago. It didn't come with any instructions so I followed some guide on Brakken's website which didn't say anything about attaching the board to the serial port. After doing some googling, I figured it out. I also never knew anything about those rubber grommets until reading about it on this site.
