1) WKF has a passthru for optical drive, GCloader not
2) GCloader can support sd card bigger than 32gb, WKF not.
3) GCloader will soon have write support, WKF probably never.
4) GCloader is (more or less) available. WKF is out of stock.

Re: GB Player Consolizer
IIRC the gbaplayer has inside a standard gba chip. The "magic" happens in another chip (gbs-dol). So you can use a gbaplayer mainboard as a base for an hdmi consolization but it's pointless. The chip inside it's exactly the same. Also the hi-speed port connector it's impossible to find, un...

Ok, it's a bootable pressed disk with a sd2sp2 or an sd gecko. Very expensive, since for $20 you can still buy a Datel Media Loader.

Is the spindle motor (and the spindle itself) of the XV-10 the same of the Q?

GD SD-drive kit, after the GC-Loader another ODE for gamecube?
GD SD-drive kit, after the GC-Loader another ODE for gamecube? One of the official resellers of Krikzz everdrive flash card has a page about a new ODE for gamecube. There are no photos so it's not possible to tell if it's a clone of the gc-loader or a new unit. It cost slightly less than the gc-load...

Re: N64 GCvideo-DVI hybrid
That's great! I am waiting for a decent hdmi solution for N64. The mini hdmi is usually chosen because to use the standard hdmi port you have to pay some fees to the hdmi consortium.

Re: gamecube light gun? help
I know it's an old thread but... could the two light gun meant to be used with Cocoto Funfair a.k.a. Cocoto Magic Circus? It's a shooting game released on Gamecube, Wii and Ps2. The ps2 version uses the Guncon and the wii version uses the wiimote. Being a shooting games doesn't make much sense to us...

I had a flash cart for GBA with a custom cable to connect the GBA thru his link port to a PC parallel port. It was slooooow and, IIRC you can only put one game at time.

Re: Panasonic Q DVD region free Mod
You need a copy of the DVD, an authoring DVD burner and an Authoring DVD-r. The authoring media isn't a standard dvd-r. A standard DVD-r with a standard dvd recorder is not going to work. For more info about authoring dvd format have a look here: http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/GeneralvsAuthoring.pdf Thi...

Re: Panasonic Q DVD region free Mod
The mod is not only adding a pic (with unknow code BTW) and updating the firmware (with an almost impossible to find authoring DVD). You also have to add anther ram chip (with decouplig caps, IIRC) if you want to enable PAL decoding. If you have a look on the ram chips on the third photo you will no...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
BTW I found a WIP version of the xeno firmware with the possibility of load a .dol from the memory card. Are there udate on that? Does it work? It works mostly but you'll need a disc in the drive anyway so at that point, you might as well load a DVD-R with Swiss or something. It just replaces the C...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Did I say something wrong?? :( Absolutely not. It was a technically perfect comment. I never had a look at those sources and it was very interesting for me. In theory should be possibile to create a Q-compatible update for the Xeno but I'm not a programmer, sadly. BTW I found a WIP version of the x...

Probably the "boot" version is connected to HW version. You already have the latest firmware according to this: https://wode.obeygravity.de/Downloads#Firmware_Update_Files Maybe you can downgrade and then upgrade again following those instructions: https://wode.obeygravity.de/FirmwareDowng...

Memory card editing with Raspberry PI
I missed this one: it's a project for reading and writing GameCube memory cards with a Raspberry Pi. Not exactly the most useful thing since you can use a softmodded wii or HW on gamecube but it's nice to know about new stuff being developed for the cube. https://jamchamb.github.io/2018/12/03/gamecu...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Vertical resolution is 480 for NTSC vs 576 for pal, this is why they need more ram. On the unmodded units the chip is missing.

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
Panasonic Q is NTSC-Jap. To make a universal video dvd reader for NTSC you need a service disk (that is not easy to replicate because it uses a special format). For having Pal compatibility you need also an extra memory chip and, from the photos I saw, also a pic with unknown content.

Viper extreme, qoob pro, qoob sx, viper "normal" and probably all the ipl replacement. Xeno "should", my Panasonic Q is still unmodded (but I have a region switch). The problem with memory card is not related to the bios but to the games saving. It could happen also if you use ja...

Re: What modcip works in panasonic q?
This is the problem with opinions... they are not facts. The gamecube motherboard inside a Panasonic Q is almost standard so, every modchip connected to the motherboard will work in the same way. The dvd drive uses a custom board because it interface with both the gamecube motherboard and the dvd de...

Have a look here to see how it works:

You will realize that a 0 ohm resistor or simply some solder will do the trick.
