In game cut scenes out of sync
Playing the PAL MGS Twin Snakes on my PAL GC with GCLoader and latest swiss and noticed that the cut scenes audio doesn't match the video.
Is that just just something happening with this game in particular or is there something I can tweak in my swiss settings to correct it?

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
Are you forcing 480i/p? This game runs fast when you do so.

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
Yes 480p, was told to always force 480p when using the gcplug. What option should I use? auto?
Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
I'm ussing 576p (Game is 50Hz only) and game runs perfect.

This is one example of what was discussed on another thread of yours.

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
Doing what you suggest will cause some NTSC games to crash or run in PAL 50Hz.
Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
So the few I use with no problem was just by luck.
Too bad there is no independent flag for the number of lines/frequency and another for progressive forcing. It would have been so nice to get progressive automatic when digital AV is used regardless of the region of the games.

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
576p is rarely optimal. See the internal resolution of most games on the compatibility list.

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
Yeah forcing 576p did fix the sync issues.
Maybe all PAL games are better off running at this rather than 480p

They are not. See the compatibility list.

Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
An easy way to see how to select 480p or 576p for games, if the PAL game doesnt ask you to choose between 50 or 60Hz (Twin Snakes, Animal Crossing, or the Mario Party series) choose 576p, if the PAL game ask you to choose between 50 or 60Hz (Mario Kart, Pokemon Coloseum or F-Zero GX) or is one of the few PAL60 only games (Metroid Prime 2, Geist, or the 2 Zelda compilation discs) then choose 480p and 60Hz in game.sd_dracula wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 7:02 pmYeah forcing 576p did fix the sync issues.

Some games have .ipl patches to turn them into 60Hz, but most of them run too fast with this patches.
Re: In game cut scenes out of sync
I think it is a wise thing to do so, while it means you'll have to change the settings according to the games you play.
PAL60 only games seem to just ignore the 50Hz setting, so forcing to 576p will end up playing in 480p anyways. I would have loved the NTSC games to do so, and assumed this, as I didn't experience problems with those I used so far, but some other don't like that setting.

Where do these informations come from? Are we sure the Internal resolution is relevant for PAL versions as well?

A debugger. It's largely only relevant for PAL.
