Post by slashpts » Thu Aug 05, 2010 2:05 am

Hey guys!
Tell us what games you've finished in GC, and what is bad or good!
Use this Symbols to rate:  ROX GAME! SUX GAME! NORMAL GAME!

Remember, this list is my opinion... and I don't say every cause for judge any game.

MY LIST:
 Zelda Wind Waker (first game I've finished in GC. Classic!)
 Metroid Prime
 Starfox Assault (so many stages without crafts!!!)
 Tales of Symphonia
 Capcom Vs SNK 2
 Viewtiful Joe
 Mario Power Tennis
 TMNT (the graphics are good, and first level too. But, but.... Yeah! It's BUTT!)
 Mario Kart Double Dash
 Time Splitters Future Perfect
 Zelda Twilight Princess (Best GC game EVER!)
 Wario World (man this game is bad! very very bad!)
 Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
 Time Splitters 2 (Future Perfect is better)
 Paper Mario Thousand Year Door
 Soul Calibur II
 Auto Modelista (I hate that Shelby Cobra!!!!!)
 Viewtiful Joe 2 (better than first game for 2 reasons: Sylvia and 36 Chambers!)

I'm currently playing Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III - Rebel Strike...

Some of my finished games I can remember:
 Luigis Mansion
 Waverace Blue Storm
 Metroid Prime
 Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
 Legend of Zelda - The Windwaker
 Crazy Taxi
 Super Mario Sunshine
 Mario Kart Double Dash
 Mario Party 4,5,6,7
 Mario Golf (deserves double  )
 Mario Power Tennis
 Super Smash Bros. Melee
 Starfox Adventures
 Starfox Assault (too short!)
 Geist

As you can see, most were really well rated, because I don't finish crappy games :p

Still to play & finish:
 Zelda - Twilight Princess (finished it on Wii in early 2007)
 Battalion Wars
 Paper Mario (too time consuming)
 Skies of Arcadia - Legends (again, too long)
 Pikmin
 Pikmin 2
 Simpsons Hit and Run (Good basic fun)
 Zelda - Four Swords
 Phantasy Star Online Ep 1&2 (AWESOME GAME, but so little time to play it!)

As you can see, my life got busy towards the end of the Gamecube era, so there's still a lot I need to go back and finish..

Good list! Well, my PRIDE say me: IF YOU STARTED, FINISH THIS S**T!!!
And the bad games for me are good games for others... many reviews rated with good score.

It's all! Tks for suggestions!

I don't like Wario World too...

Mario Kart: Double Dash
Mario Party 4,5,6
Mario Party 7
Mario Sunshine
Super Smash Bros melee  (Cool game  , but Single Player  )
Wario Ware

I have not finished so much games, because I bought my GC last year :P Before that my only console was SNES at home. A lot of friends have GC, Wii, PS3, XBoX360, ...
I started a lot of games that (totally) sucked: Wario World, Paper Mario, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (nice Intro but boring game), Simpsons road rage, Def Jam for New York, DragonBall Z, Ikaruga, Kirby Air Ride, Luigis Mansion, Roadkill

Then I started some games but till now I'm not finished: Star Wars Jedi Knight II Jedi Outcast, Zelda Fourswords, Turok Evolution

Paper Mario TTYD was awesome. I thought it had a great story. My daughters loved watching me play. Near the end when the computer "died", my girls were very sad. I enjoyed the game so much that I procured and played Paper Mario 64.

Sad that is the only game that I finished on the Cube. I've played a bunch of others but haven't finished them. I tend to be a handheld guy...playing the DSi XL, GBM, or PSP mostly.

I'm currently playing Picross 3D and Spirits Tracks on my XL. Once they're done, I plan to play Ocarina of Time on N64 next.

Luigi's Mansion was a good game, I rated it lower because of it's longevity :/
You noticed I rated Mario Golf lower as well, mostly because I thought N64 version to be superior :P

Let me know what you think as you play them

Dead serious. Can't touch RE2, had the best story, character development, amount of puzzles, replay value.

Yeah even liked Code Veronica more, I had to force myself to finish RE4. Had nice graphics but too different for my liking and just didn't enjoy it. RE5 is the biggest pile of shit

RE2 and RE1 (GC Remake) are the best Resident Evil games and that's the truth ;)

but the GC port of RE2 is technically awful...kind of.

Well it's a port, don't know what else they could've done. The resolution is much better than on PSX or N64 and that's good enough for me. I'm just really glad that they've released it along with the other RE games on the Gamecube.

(Dreamcast version of RE2 is still the best)

 Baten Kaitos
 Custom Robo (Falls short of greatness, but robot building was a lot of fun)
 F-Zero GX (technically never beat the final event mission)
 Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
 Ikaruga (PAL conversion was poor, though)
 The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (Gorgeous, but clearly unfinished, and drowning in filler content)
 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
 Lego Star Wars & Lego Star Wars II (So good I played the compilation on Wii, too)
 Nintendo Puzzle Collection (PANEL DE PON 64!)
 Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
 Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Absolute best game of last generation)
 Skies of Arcadia Legends (Amusing RPG throwback, but nostalgia only goes so far and the random encounters are awful)
 The Simpsons: Hit and Run (Supposedly GTA: Springfield, but uses small, constrained levels instead of a true open world; still good for a Simpsons game)
 Sonic Mega Collection (I never had a Mega Drive)
 Spider-Man 2 (Still the best Spider-Man game)
 Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
 Super Smash Bros. Melee
 Tales of Symphonia
 True Crime: Streets of LA (Decent GTA clone, good enough if you can't play the real thing)
 Ultimate Spider-Man (Prettier than SM2, but a very small world and frustrating gameplay)

I've never finished a game that was just plain bad, but Prince of Persia: Warrior Within would definitely be counted as bad if I bothered to finish it. All the wonder of Sands stripped away and replaced with unrealistically proportioned women, graphic violence and brooding darkness to please the Nickelback crowd. Snooooore.

Finished The Last Story on Wii - quite enjoyed it and I would rate it highly. I like games that push the limits of a console and aren't afraid for some framerate drop :)

Personally I don;t think the rating system does some of these justice. I've played far too much cube.

 Zelda Wind Waker
 Metroid Prime
 Starfox Assault
 Tales of Symphonia
 Capcom Vs SNK 2
 Viewtiful Joe
 Mario Kart Double Dash
 Wario World
 Fire Emblem Path of Radiance
 Soul Calibur II
 Viewtiful Joe 2
 Luigis Mansion
 Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
 Super Mario Sunshine
 Starfox Adventures
 Skies of Arcadia - Legends
 Pikmin 2
 Simpsons Hit and Run
 Zelda - Four Swords
 Warioware
 The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
 Resident Evil 4
 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
 Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
 Tony Hawk's Underground
 Sonic Herioes
 Sonic Adventure DX
 Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
 P.N.03
 Chibi Robo
 Beyond Good & Evil
 Rayman 3
 WWE Day of Reckoning
 WWE Day of Reckoning 2
 Burnout
 Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
 Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
 F-Zero GX (story mode anyway, still need the AX content)
 Resident Evil (on wii but it's the same thing)
 Resident Evil 2
 Resident Evil 3
 Medal of Honor Rising Sun
 Virtua Striker 3 Ver.2002 (loved this at the time, been a good 9 years since I played it)
 Fifa Football 2003
 Fifa Football 2005
 Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II
 Eternal Darkness
 007 Everything or Nothing
 Donkey kong Jungle Beat
 XIII
 Pokemon Colosseum
 Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg

Games I basically gave up on the last level:
 Mario Power Tennis (could not win the final match of the final cup)
 Phantasy Star EP I&II (got to last boss on episode 1, lost and couldn't be bothered anymore)
 Geist (I was basically 2 chapters from the end)
 Medal of Honor Frontline (the last 2 levels are impossible)

Would have included Twilight Princess but the wii version is a bit different really (mirrored layout, motion controls). Still many great cube games I need to finish so they can be added to the list.

Dun dun dun! I thought I would revive this thread.

Anyways, I've finished many gamecube titles over the years. I thought I would go ahead and give my insight on them here.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (MQ Bonus disc)
despite owning the v1.0 collector's edition cart for the n64 of oot, the first time I ever finished Ocarina of Time was on the Master Quest gamecube disc, and man it was a blast. Playing off and on it took me about 5-6 months until I finally completed the game, but it was certainly one of the best games I've played in my life. Very fun, if you haven't played it (which honestly, who hasn't) I definitely picking up a copy. The cheapest you'd find would probably be the n64 version for about $30+.

Sonic Adventure DX
Despite being immensely glitchy, the game was decent overall. I loved the fact that there were many playable characters, which pretty much motivated me to play the game 'cause I wanted to play as Big so much lol.

Phantasy Star Online: Ep. I&II
a very underrated gc title, one of if not the best gc game I've played. Seriously, it's incredible. Stop being lazy, raise $40 or so dollars, and buy this game. Or pirate it. I don't give a shit.

Luigi's Mansion
Another one of my favorite gc classics, a lot better than its sequel if you ask me. Oh, also, "Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarioooooooooooooooooo?"

Super Mario Sunshine
There hasn't been a mario game I've played to date that hasn't impressed me. I remember staying up late at night, being around 4-5 years-old staying up playing this game with my brother, boy was it a blast...unfortunately I've never 100%'d it though. If I ever get time, I ought to go back and do that.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
This game is awesome, don't get me wrong, it's just when I sit here and thank about it...I didn't enjoy it no where near as much as Brawl. My brother and I basically unlocked all the characters, then we got bored of it.

Ed, Edd 'n Eddy: The Mis-Edventures
Terrible graphics, annoying ass enemies, useless teammates, stupid, nonsensical missions, TERRIBLE GAME. Need I say more? I honestly haven't played a game by Midway that was anywhere close to decent, with the exception of the next game I'm about to list.

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy
Despite being developed by midway, the cartoon version of LJN, this was a pretty decent game. Now, if its story was just a little better...

Pac-Man Fever
Terrible, blatant Mario Party rip-off. I can't exactly remember, but I think there were like 5 playable characters too, I could be wrong. Oh, also, terrible mini-games.

That's pretty much all the GC games I've finished within the last couple of years...
