Put me on the list for a stand alone internal fiber optic board please megalomaniac.

Also just out of curiosity will the a/v boards still have the option of VGA built in or was that option dropped from the board design?

I was under the impression that the second list is for people that already own an official component cable but would also like to have a standalone digital audio board to go with it.

Sign me for one A/V board, please. Maybe combined shipment with liquitt would be a nice option again?

just to clarify the purpose of the two lists...

the first list is for a full internal a/v board setup/mod which will come with the following:

Code: Select all

Toshiba digital audio IC
MX B012355

AUX board for the following connectors:
VGA connector
YPBPR connector
FO audio connector

also, a video selector switch to change between VGA and YPBPR
PICS will be posted soon of the completed design/setup

the second list is for an internal audio only setup/mod which will come with the following:

Code: Select all

Toshiba digital audio IC
FO audio connector
note: internal audio only, i am not sure if i will design an external audio mod for the official component cable yet..
this second list is targeted for those who want audio only
those who may already have an official component cable
those who want to add digital audio to other systems such as PSX, SNES, Saturn...(docs can be found online, i will not support since i have no means of testing other systems)

if someone was to discover the AVE pinout of Wii, this chip should be capable of digital audio for wii as well...then again a HDMIkey clone on ebay is easier

further info: an external audio mod is an easy circuit to create, but i personally do not like the fact of having to open the official component cable only because the metal shielding does not close back into its original form very easy...
im not sure if anyone would want to go thru that process of having to mess around with that shielding...
it is possible, easy to remove, hard to put back in proper place...

but if anyone really wants a headache, let me know...

still need to add the bottom component connector...
but this is the overall idea of the aux board....

since the main board is to be soldered directly into the GC mobo, the aux board will connect via removable header cable...
once the aux board is hard modded permanently onto the back panel, the removable header cable will allow quick disconnect for taking apart the case in the future..

Very satisfied with the ones you already sent me but sign me up for the complete board also.

I plan to make a sweet GC mod. This is a must have.

As for the test results. The video board works exactly like the original one I have. So not really anything to say about it. As for the digital audio chip that one works too. I get digital audio in my amp and it sounds perfect!!

Made this up for myself working on my latest portable. Thought it may be useful for anyone wanting to try connecting a component chip to a rev C cube.

I'm on the road right now so I'll check this again in a few hours...but where does 54mhz come from??
I didn't see any 54mhz xtal on the mobo

I of course traced all of the connection points myself.

Maybe I wasn't clear trying to type on iPhone.

I understand pin 11 of the MX pinout
I meant the revC mobo. I never found a 54mhz xtal on the revC

If there is no xtal, then is that gpu via actually 54mhz??

ok....i have revived the rev C
didnt fix it...just cheated by using a dol-001 power board...

so now that i have my board working i get great audio and video out of the composite connector....
i switched my screen over to component, and no video...no 480i, much less 480p
i was still thinking it might be because the rev c does not have a 54mhz crystal....
so i performed a transplant of the 54mhz crystal from a dol-001 CPU-30 board since this has the same 2 pad crystal footprint...

the crystal transplant still allows the board to display composite video but still no luck with any video from the MX chip
maybe an IPL chip replacement would work???

so far no luck here...
definitely worth a second check by someone else...

I'll give it a go when I get some free time. I've got a few spare rev c boards here now.

This is the answer i got from mx:

Sorry for my late reply. After checking, the part exists in our company. However, it's customized for specific customer only but not standard parts.
I'm sorry that we are unable to provide the parts to you.
Thanks for your understanding.
