Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Using SD-Boot 0.3/0.4final/0.4RC1/0.4RC4 I can't play any game.
Some games load, but after a few moments they freeze with a loud 'beep'.
I have no idea what to do.
I've already tried different SD readers, different SD cards, and yet I get the same problem.
SD Card FAT formated.
I'm in a Gamecube (with Component output although I don't have component cables :'( )
Any ideas?
(NTSC Console, NTSC or PAL games, the same thing)

Google "how to defragment in windows xp" or whatever operating system you're on. it's a very easy process.
Or, freshly format your SD card, then put only the game on, this should avoid fragmentation. (formatting it every time you put a new game on)

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Nope.
It's defragmented and I still get the same error.
Also, I noticed some differences when loading SD Boot from the DVD vs the SD.
If I load the dol from the DVD I can see the whole name of the files.
If I load the dol from the sd (using SD Load), I see them in 8:3 format (i.e. naruto~1.iso)
Don't know if that has something to do with anything.

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
shouldn't have anything to do with it.
Btw, when loading games, they must be in .ISO or .GCM format, not extracted to the card....

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Extracted?
Since SD-Boot can see them (list them, can analyse them) I guess that has nothing to do.
Still, don't understand why the frezeing+sound ...

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Ok. let me see if I'm doing it the right way:
On Windows:
- Formatted the SD card as fat32
- Patched the SD card with the program that came with SD Boot
- Put the ISO/GCM files in the folder ./GCGAMES/ (shrinked)
- Put the sdloader.bin file in the sd root.
- Put SD-Boot dol files (several versions) on sd root
- Made and burned a bootable DVD where SD-Loader is installed.
On gamecube:
- Boot the dvd, and load sd-loader.
- From SDLoader, load the sd-boot
- Change the sd-gecko to the other slot and then load a game from it.
---> Then the game loads but hangs....
¿any ideas?

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Don't do the following:
Patch the SD card with the program that came with SD Boot
Shrink ISO/GCM files
Put the sdloader.bin file in the sd root.

Re: Can't Load any game with SD-Boot
Ok, so it would be:
Format fat32
put unshrinked games on /GCGAMES
Load SD-Boot and test.
Is this right?
