Soldering Question For GCP!

Post by Bardicus » Mon Feb 25, 2013 7:48 pm

Hey Everyone,

Good afternoon,

About to start working on my GameCube portable and really needed some suggestions as far as what soldering iron is the best for what we are doing here? As Well as flux and actual solder

I do not want to fry my board, and would greatly appreciate the advice! Thank you peeps!

if you don't think you will fry something in the process of making a GameCube portable then you have a long way to go my friend :)

I use a 1mm tip iron and it does the job for pretty much everything. Solder/flux, just go solder unless if you're doing some IC soldering.

ha ha Thank for advise emu!

Just to let you know, I love your work and you are basically the reason that has inspired me to get into this hobby!

I almost have all of the parts right now! (2 of everything) Lol! Just so when i screw something up! Im going the wiikey route, with dol 101 rev c boards, 2 5" lcd screens, and soon will be looking into cases, as i know nothing about! where to get the plastic, how to draw up a prototype, Im a autocad programmer for real job, but its only 2d cad, so have to experiment with 3d stuff. If you have any other advice, or can show me in the direction for great tips on here that would great! I have been following you ever since I joined and I cant wait to show everyone what im building and get there feedback
