Hello guys!
I'll need to remove an old modchip from an Wii, and i never solded neither desolded something...
I think I can do this, the Wii should have the first gen modchips... but, can someone giveme some tips about desoldering, for example, what is your favourite method and so...
Thanks!

Desoldering braid produces the cleanest results but you end up having to reheat the solder to often which imo isn't good for the components, I prefer to do it quicker with a Desoldering pump but that has the downside of becoming quickly filled with solder so you have empty it everytime and the nozzles are made of plastic that melts.

Yeah I use a desoldering pump too, the braid gets on my nerves when it doesn't pick up solder properly..

I get the best results with braid as well. Sometimes adding some flux will help it pick up the solder better.
THe soldering pump never works well for me.
