Are things going more or less smoothly with Wii64/WiiSX?
Seriously, is there something delaying its release? Any issues that you guys have encountered that may prevent at least some sort of announcement?

We're re-writing a few major parts to get it right this time - both compatibility and speed wise - this is for Wii64. WiiSX we're waiting on a few other things to get up to speed before we really get back into that.

I can't wait to see the preview video, not to mention playing Hybrid Heaven, Mystical Ninja 64 and so on! There is going to be a teaser video....right? But seriously, the fact that the team is using dynarec to convert 64-bit VR4300 CPU code to 32-bit Power PC code is nothing short of a miracle.

If we released it now you wouldn't see much difference, be patient, it's all happening.

Re: Are things going more or less smoothly with Wii64/WiiSX?
I was thinking on the next wii64 release. Hey emukidid, what do you think about a "frame skip" feature in order to get more speed (I know, it isnt "more real speed") it will get lot of peolple "happy" for a time. And, I have a question, the DK64 camera glitch is a "CORE problem" or a "Video Problem" and the same for the buggy shadow of banjo on banjo tooei.
cHEERS!
cHEERS!
Re: Are things going more or less smoothly with Wii64/WiiSX?
Frame skip is not going to help since each frame is processed regardless - the DK64 glitch - pretty sure it's a core issue but we'll find out soon with our new video plugin...

Ok! Got it, and Happy New Year (I know, 4 days late sorry) You said a new video plugin? Will it be "switcheable" with the old plugin? Because the "old" plugin works great with lots of games than I play as mario party games, you know like project 64, you can configura a plugin for some games than doesn´t work with the default pluginemu_kidid wrote:Frame skip is not going to help since each frame is processed regardless - the DK64 glitch - pretty sure it's a core issue but we'll find out soon with our new video plugin...

Any way I know you are progressing a lot i am sure than the new version will be awesome.

If it's better than the old one, what's the point of making it switchable? Heck, maybe they even got the pixel dissolve effects in Mario 64.

Re: Are things going more or less smoothly with Wii64/WiiSX?
It asked because I have problems in PJ64 (Jabo´s Plguin "the best" doestn´t work as fine as Rice daedalus for Mario Party 3) some times, an "old" or version is more efective in some games. =Pthe_randomizer wrote:If it's better than the old one, what's the point of making it switchable? Re: Are things going more or less smoothly with Wii64/WiiSX?
The best, up-to-date one is Glide64 WX; it's the only known plugin that properly emulates the pixel dissolve effects in some N64 games (Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Mystical Ninja 64). Rice Daedalus doesn't even run DirectX properly (certain games end up with massive gfx glitches, missing audio), and is severely outdated. Now Glide64 is a plugin that I'd like to see get ported, but, that probably ain't gonna happen.JPnintendo wrote:It asked because I have problems in PJ64 (Jabo´s Plguin "the best" doestn´t work as fine as Rice daedalus for Mario Party 3) some times, an "old" or version is more efective in some games. =Pthe_randomizer wrote:If it's better than the old one, what's the point of making it switchable?
