Hi all, I recently pulled out my old GC, and looks like I need to update the bios on the Viper. However, I have misplaced the cable and programmer =(
I am wondering if it is possible to flash it some other way. I know it is possible to do it from media, but only if it is above a certain bios build. Can it be done an ohter way. Jtag NT, Teensey 2.0++? Thanks.
Program Viper GC without it's stock programmer
Re: Program Viper GC without it's stock programmer
Thank you emu_kidid, it is currently running a build of Cobra. I am updating it because only one of my backups work (mini disc) the rest of the backups on mini discs dont, and if I recall correctly, they did way back when it was used. I am hoping an updated build will help to read the media better.
Re: Program Viper GC without it's stock programmer
Ok, I got Cobra 2.1, but it appears to be a .vgc file. I use IMGBurn to burn it to a dvd-r, full sized, by renaming the extension to .iso, but it failed the burn (never finalized). Is this the correct way to burn it, I couldnt find any info in the pdf on how to burn these .vgc files, thanks.
Re: Program Viper GC without it's stock programmer
That's not the correct way to burn it. Use the "Build a disc" mode in ImgBurn and put it in there with some other large files, this will create a iso9660 disc.

Re: Program Viper GC without it's stock programmer
Thanks again! That worked, it seems to be booting my Ridata mini's, but not my white topped mini's, I will try tweaking the pot. Cheers.

All sorted, set to 176 ohms, read most, set to 150 ohms, now reads all, thanks a million.
