how to play wii games?

My original wii's disk drive went kaput to the point that I have to boot through priiloader, but I'm wondering... Are there any ways i could boot through an external USB dvd drive or an tools i might need? i can't figure USBLoader out anyway.

I used to play my Wii games through external DVD drive since I haven't got HDD back then. Check uLoader, I believe this was the name of that homebrew.

thanks! i looked at the readme, and yes i could play games on a dvd drive..
but 1. ULoader crashed when i tried to launch it.
2. the cios installer won't work as in it stopped when it said >>>Reloading iOS 249<<<
and 3. i think the cios installer not working is the problem to ULoader.

the wii i'm using, I got in '09. it has 4 Stub iOSes including 249... so why won't it install?

I also run 4.3 U NTSC with the latest HBC and iOS 58.

So a broken DVD drive means that the Wii can't boot to the System Menu normally? If you can get to the System Menu through Priiloader, there are several USB loaders you can try. They all require some version of cIOS 249, though.

That's the thing though. also first, I fixed the Sys menu problem. but I can't seem to install cIOs 249 or boot ULoader through HBC...
