Swiss stuck on "Init Wiikey Fusion"

Post by Aurelio » Fri Jun 05, 2015 9:21 am

Hello, this is my first post on this board, my name is Aurelio :)
I've just installed a WASP on my PAL GameCube. I got it from Bad Ass Consoles, so it came with preinstalled Swiss 0.3 rev 275 (I bought it almost a year ago, but just now I had a little bit of free time). The problem is that when I turn my GC on it loads Swiss and shows a message saying "Init Wiikey Fusion" and then it stucks there...
I've already checked the connections multiple times and I've tried different SD cards (all formatted as FAT32).
Is there a way to force Swiss to show files from a SD Gecko, bypassing the initialization of the wiikey fusion?
Can you please help me?

Thank you

Just to make sure, how did you connect the wasp to the cube ? Megadrive ? Which version ?

I removed the FFC connector from the WASP and I directly wired it to the GameCube. I've checked all the connections and they look fine...

power on the GC, wait for initialization to freeze...
then turn off and turn on again in a second...
that should allow initialization to continue..

if you reboot to fast the WASP will not load initial iso...
it takes a bit of timing to get use to the process but if that works let me know...

OMG! I found the problem! Trying to turn off and on the GC fast didn't work (the GC tells me that it couldn't read the disc), but you know what worked? Replacing the power regulator with another one (right now I'm still using the original one) :o . That was unexpected... It's strange that with old regulator the gamecube works well with DVDs... Maybe the 3.3v line is fucked up for some reasons.
The only "problem" that I'm having is that on startup Swiss tells me that the Wiikey Fusion switch are set wrongly, while they are not... But games work, so doesn't matter :D
Anyway thanks a lot for helping me, you made me want to retest everything and luckily the old regulator was mounted on another gamecube
