Gc Portable

Post by SneakyDonut » Mon Sep 14, 2015 8:44 pm

Hello everyone. I'm rather new to this console modding scene but successfully modded my gamecube and thought it was so fun I should try out something to really occupy me for a while. So I want to build a gamecube portable but I'm not sure where to begin. Any tips on what should be my primary focus or what the main challenges are in building one?

have you ever taken a dremel to a computer motherboard and cut it into pieces, soldered random pieces from a blender microwave or tv remote control onto the motherboard in hopes that the motherboard will function 100% as normal prior to cutting it into pieces??

have you ever considered performing some other electronics project before jumping into GC portable??
you know more something simple....making an LED light up....making the LED light up with various adjustable intensities/brightness...making the LED flash on it own with no user interaction....

many people make a portable because they want an electronics project to work on....
usually someone has to hold their hand all the way thru the process because they cannot read or they dont have the fundamental background in electronics that could have been had performing more basic projects....

No I haven't and that's why I'm asking. I want to know what fundamentals I should teach myself before I jump in. Then once I feel confident I'm going to tackle it. In the meantime I am working on small projects.

as insignificant as it may appear....you can learn a lot working with LEDs....
understanding resistance.....understanding capacitance....voltage and amp requirements ....

also using a multimeter to take readings of whats happening....
learning how to read voltage, impedance, current draw.....

dont underestimate what you can learn as a beginner from simple LEDs
