US & PAL compatibility on JPN systems
US & PAL compatibility on JPN systems
To avoid derailing the other guy's topic... Was the possibility I raised hyperbole, or does Gamecube really have just two US titles and zero PAL titles with any form of in-game effect when run in Japan encoding? Considering Kirby Air Ride's effect is a menu needing cheat codes, calling that "in-game" is a stretch.

...what?
its best to play nstc games anyway due to their progressive scan capability

Re: US & PAL compatibility on JPN systems
I have a different question, but is also about compatibility.
So I own DOL-001(EUR) GameCube and I want to purchase a GameBoy Player via Ebay. After some exploring I found out that some people GameBoy Players are tagged with US, AU, DE, FR, JAP etc (most of them aren't tagged with anything except DOL-017 which i found out is just Nintendos SN for the player). And that got me thinking - is my GameCube compatible with any of this players or should i search for a specific EU version of the player?
Thanks for the replys

Re: US & PAL compatibility on JPN systems
I use a Japanese GameBoy player on a PAL console. The disc is region locked but if you're using Game Boy Interface or a way to boot imports you'll be fine.

I see, thank you.
