Panasonic Q - DVD No Picture, Only Sound

Hi,

I recently acquired Japan Panasonic Gamecube Q, as usual it is plague with broken DVD legs. I manage to fix that and it can now eject and play NTSC/J games well.

My problem is in DVD Mode, when i play the DVD (Japan Region 2) .. i can hear the sound and dialogue but there is no video. I can see a light faint vertical blue bar on the screen which faded after a few minute.

Any help ?

Also, i have another set with problematic drive, but are able to go into DVD mode (I can see the dvd logo). Do you think it will be easy to swap drive ? Is it doable ?

Check to see if the flex cables/etc are all going to the right place from the DVD player board to the huge side board, sounds like the video signal is cut somewhere.

should be no problem to swap the drive - the real pain will be to get a replacement drive. check what emu said
if i understand you correctly - games do work?
