Hello,
I have a rather specific request: I'm looking for a dead GameCube motherboard that's completely beyond repair, ideally with a dead CPU, GPU, or some other catastrophic issue. My goal is to salvage two components: an IPL chip and the bottom ports. These parts are needed for two DOL-101 motherboards, which belonged to me and a friend during our childhood. Unfortunately, I accidentally broke both of them.
Here's the backstory, in case you're interested:
When I was around 9, I got inspired to build a portable GameCube after watching a YouTube video. This did not work, for obvious reasons, and I have gave up on that dream forever. I bought my friend’s GameCube for $5 and removed the Game Boy Player port to prepare it. I then did not touch it for over 10 years. Then 2 years ago, while trying to install Picoboot on my original GameCube, I accidentally damaged the IPL chip with a poor-quality soldering iron. I've since upgraded to a better iron and completed a few other projects, but I'm not sure if the IPL chip can be saved. I ended up swapping the motherboards, but now I can't use the Game Boy Player.
Yea I know I am a GameCube killer, and quite possible the worst modder know to man, but I would like a chance to be able to fix my wrongs on the mighty cube. I also might have lost an entire game cube housing, but I have everything else, and I think you can buy replacements.
Thanks GC Forever.

Pretty cool little list for historical modchip! I have not see that; however I am not sure if this will work. I believe most of them still need a IPL chip to grab on too, and I might have broke mine. Thank you for your time though! What I am asking is a needle in a haystack, but I wanted to ask anyways. I will look at the list some more though in case I am wrong.Lumina333 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:35 amHave you seen this list of replacement IPLs?
