Use Gamecube + Viper GC without DVD Drive?

Hi guys, i have a GC with the Viper GC Modchip and want to use the Cube without the DVD Drive, however I start it i get an error Message without DVD Drive...
any Ideas how it works?

I believe your only option is to hold down a button to go to the menu straight away, something like X or Y, then boot from something in flash (SDLoad).
