Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
I just noticed my WKF Gamecube doesn't do the normal start up screen with the falling blocks and the cool sounds. The logo just fades in without any sounds. This is no good. I like the falling block thing. I tried out my WKF MEGAcube and it does the same thing, no opening start up sounds. Is this a WKF thing? I will have to set up a series of tests starting with a stock cube and moving into the other cubes, see how deep this conspiracy goes.
Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
A stock Cube does that when there's no disc or the lid is open when you power it up. To fix it you'll need to make your WKF autobooting and you'll boot straight to it or to Swiss if that's what you have.
Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
I have it set to auto boot swiss but the SD card I'm using only lets me auto load swiss. Would the startup screen go back to normal if I was using the WKF firmware/menu and didn't have swiss on it? Not sure that would be worth it, but I do miss those little blocks. It seems to be the same with or without an sd card in the wiikey. Bummer.
Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
What I mean by autoboot is downgrade the WKF to 1.0. Then you'll get back the startup animation/jingle and you won't need to press pin 29.

Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
its the SD card...
some SD cards allow autoboot while other SD cards only autoload...
autoboot = blocks falling and immediate boot into swiss/wkf main menu
autoload = no blocks falling and only a fade effect where you have to go into the gameplay menu to manually start swiss/wkf
there is no way to identify at this time how or why the SD cards affect startup differently

Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
Yeah it was a stock WKF taken to swiss so it was never downgraded before being convered over to swiss autoboot. I have some cards that autoboot and some that auto load. Too bad my larger capacity cards only autoload.
hmm... 32GB autoloading swiss on a WKF..... thats something I don't want to give up anytime soon.... looks like I'll do without the falling blocks.
wait.... what if I put the disc drive back into the MEGAcube, maybe a drive with the Xeno chip.... does a XenoFusion cube have the cool falling blocks if turned on without a disc or sd card?

Re: Startup sounds on my WKF cube?
with no SD card in the WKF/WASP slot and a dvd in the drive, then you will see a normal intro with the falling blocks and boot straight into the dvd title
