Post by marcus9199 » Mon Apr 14, 2014 3:45 pm

I am looking for suggestions. I an trying to work on a Gamecube "Slim" not necessarily a portable. I would like to integrate GBA player wavebird receivers 5" tft, 5000mah 3.7 LIpo battery and WKF into original gamecube case. can anyone suggest a good monitor?

3.7v at 5000mah isn't going to be a real option with the GC.
It would require you stepping up the voltage.
Your battery life would be drastically shortened compared to running two of those cells.
You want to go with 7.4v. (2 of 3.7v cells)

As for a 5" TFT that would reliable run off of 3.7v, I believe Bud over on ModRetro ran a 5"TFT off of 3.7v
(I will link that as soon as I can find it)
Very few "eBay" screens will run that low reliable and consistently.
(With the N64 3.7v can be done without stepping up but the gamecube is a different beast.)*

Thanks for the reply. After a little more measuring I don't think a 2 cell lipo will take up much more space and I already own quite a few for rc cars. Thanks again!

No problem, Glad two cells will fit because one would be a headache ;P
Good luck with your GC slim!
Can't wait to see how it turnsout.
