Gamecube won't power on! Bought from Badassconsoles.com
So the other day I was playing on my newly bought GameCube mobo bought from badassconsoles.com and it had a megadrive v5 installed by megalomaniac. Yesterday it worked fine with no problems at all but today when i hooked it up it wouldn't power on at all. The GC fan turned on but the GameCube didn't at all. I honestly don't know what happened to it.

sounds like the fuse blew on your powerboard...
check everything before you jump the fuse and power it on again...
if whatever blew the fuse is still there when you jump the fuse, you can blow the mainboard or your power supply brick

And how do I check the fuse properly? Should I add pictures of the board? EDIT: the power supply brick is fine, I have tested it with my second GC and no abnormalities occurred.

I am clueless to what you are asking me to do. I just bought a mobo from you with a megadrive v5 installed and that's it.megalomaniac wrote:^^^ read again

He already stated what to do and you went and did something entirely different.

I have done nothing to it yet. I do not know how to properly check the fuse. I am not understanding anything here at all

I checked the fuse and jumped it but I got no response. I don't know if I jumped it wrong or what.

Re: Gamecube won't power on! Bought from Badassconsoles.com
you should hope you did not blow your mainboard and wasp
i assume since its v5 you put the wasp under the mainboard...did you ensure to isolate the wasp so it does not touch the mainboard??

Indeed I did. When I resembled the GC the wasp was outside the GC and taped to the controller board plastic cover. Currently the wasp is disconnected

Nothing changed except it was working at 9:00 P.M. and when I turned it on at 10 A.M. the next day it wouldn't power. The fan works obviously. If need I can show you some pics of the cube

Re: Gamecube won't power on! Bought from Badassconsoles.com
btw, just got off the phone with paypal...
you and i have a conference call tomorrow with paypal around 11am your local time to discuss the dispute...
im sure when you log into paypal you may see some note or message...
if not you can just wait for our call...
or you can cancel the dispute and save us both time...
as you can see in the attached pic, they already removed the hold on the funds because its clear the issue was not related to the item you purchased..

Dispute eh? That's pretty low, considering you are getting help here with the info you provided and it's about a purchase from megalomaniac who is a well known member/dev... Bleh

prabhjot98, tried calling with no answer..
dispute is currently under review and in process of being closed...
my advice: take the money and run...only don't expect to be apart of what is to come next...im sorry to inform that you will have to miss out on the next generation devices for Gamecube
from what i can currently see from the dispute notes, it appears paypal themselves will be covering the buyers claim to provide a refund. While no money will be removed from my account to cover the claim, it is unfortunate that this scam attempt was successful and money lost on Paypal's side.
Granted Paypal really takes a cut when overall total of fees are considered across 100's or 1000's or 10000's of sales per month, this situation reminds me of what happened to a lot of "specialized" webstores...you know those "specialized" webstores like modchip central, mod-chip.com, modchipsdirect, or even modrobert's own EurAsia webstore....
anyone remember the time when those webstores would accept paypal??
anyone know why those webstores no longer accept paypal?
Threat!!
the threat of always having to hide under the radar from Paypal.
the threat of losing money due to frivolous claims / disputes.
the threat of having all funds seized thru sales of their items.
Paypal is by far the most easily accepted form of online payment and the most convenient for a buyer. How much is it is pain it the ass to send a western union payment? How many are comfortable with using a credit card at these "specialized" webstores? Direct Bank transfer anyone?? When faced with potential loss thru paypal dispute or even total seizure of funds and frozen account status, its easier for webstores to remove the threat of Paypal by forcing buyers to jump thru hoops to send an alternative form of payment. Anyone who has sent an alternative form of payment also knows the huge fees involved just to send the payment.
I too plan to eliminate the threat...not by removing Paypal as a form of payment, but by removing the sale of "drive replacement" devices. There are greater plans for Badass Consoles as i have previously posted months ago. Needless to say, once the remaining "drive replacements" are sold out, there will be no more. Threat eliminated!!

Man if both sides are telling the truth... We began with a significant problem in the item, then had a scam to correct it.
Pretty messed up.
Assuming the item did indeed break.

My bad, the dispute was filled b4 I fixed it. I will talk to PayPal about closing the case. PayPal had escalated the case without consulting me. I will fix this issue right now. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Paypal made an attempt to consult you in the form of a conference phone call between the three of us...
since the Paypal rep could not get a hold of you, he decided to close the dispute..
now...if the dispute was filed before you fixed it GC then why do the timestamps not add up??
lets look at the timestamp here on the forum where you indicate it was fixed...

6:14pm as shown on my local time zone
due to a daylight savings time or server time being incorrect this timestamp was verified to need adjusted by 1 hour...
so the actual local time should reflect 7:14pm
lets look at the the timestamp from paypal...
toward the bottom you will see 19:15....this is equal to 7:15
this appears as if the paypal dispute was opened 1 minute after the post above

lets look at one more timestamp from paypal notification thru gmail
gmail also shows 7:15.....1 minute after posting here on the forum that everything was fixed

so ....you say you opened the dispute before posting here that it was fixed??

The PayPal dispute took time to process. If you want an apology then I am sincerely sorry for the misunderstanding caused by my actions and stupidity. To be honest I thought I was the one being scammed because my gamecube worked for a day then just shut down and know that I know what the problem is I am regreting my decision to open that paypal dispute. I hope you forgive me.

Because megaloman would deliberately build a cube that would arrive functional and break just for the small amount you paid for it.prabhjot98 wrote:The PayPal dispute took time to process. By comparison defrauding people gets your name posted across the 7 ISPs. Some of us (such as myself) have weight across many forums.
