I'm at a loss
I'm using Nkit to Trim GameCube Games to save Space, Got some to trim some not
Sonic Mega Collection (J) doesn't play nice witth Nkit
Read Vaiid: VerifyFaied
Tryed to converting it to ISO, Got to 932MB
Also Recover, Nothing...Thinking I have a bad ISO
Swiss still says to big

I recommend using GCMUtility to reduce the size of ISOs:MarioMania wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 8:04 pmI'm at a loss

If you are using an unmodified ISO in the process and want to remove the message about Nkit in Swiss, just do the following:
1 - Open ISO with HxD and locate the following lines:
00000200 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
00000210 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
2 - Switch to:
00000200 4E 4B 49 54 20 76 30 31 89 B5 53 BF BD B8 58 82
00000210 57 05 80 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
Re: Nkit
Thanks, I'll have to add additional checks to defeat that.

Re: Nkit
the goal is to prevent games from running in a format other than Nkit?
this binary modification can create a different environment for checking the games on the compatibility list ...

DEBUG IS NECESSARY

Re: Nkit
Just one detail... I'm sure this message should bother the user much more.Diego borella wrote: ↑Fri Aug 28, 2020 6:58 pmthis binary modification can create a different environment for checking the games on the compatibility list ...![]()
Re: Nkit
It's not just one detail. These tools cause errors that affect playability.
Re: Nkit
200 is not the 1907 currently in the Redump database. What it does is also not easily reversible.
Re: Nkit
1907 is a good number. But I prefer to rely on the number 0 of problems caused by GCMUtility. The important thing is that it solves the author's problem. If he comes back and tells the conclusion of this story...

Re: Nkit
today I see no advantage for GCmultility.
Nkit does everything by itself and at the same time, leaving ISOS READY to Swiss;
I had problems with Nkit, but the whole question is as follows, for those who may have the same problem:
my Win 7 64bit.
when starting the Nkit app, it will report an error message due to blah blah units.
drag the games into the Nkit process, so with the error, wait, it looks like Nkit has crashed, but you will see that it is starting to work, wait!
even with the status in red, Nkit works. the Nkit.iso will be ready.
after all, the problem may be an ISO.
i had a dump of zelda TP-br. that I converted and reconverted, nothing. the problem was the iso.
PS,
1 "VerifyFaied" appears on all isos for me ... it doesn't seem to be a problem ...
2 I dont haven't figured out how to run GCZ games ...

Re: Nkit
Diego, have you finished The Wrath of the Cortex, Finest Hour, Hot Pursuit 2 modified with Nkit? I think you can change your mind. Time passes and I see the same problems. They just change the games.Diego borella wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 10:22 pmtoday I see no advantage for GCmultility.![]()

Re: Nkit
"My personal experience with a sample size of one user and only 10% of the Redump library obviously trumps the advice of the developers of Swiss!"
It's not easy getting the Gamecube to run games from an unintended storage device, given that there isn't the convenience of a low level OS to use, like with the Wii. Don't make things more complicated by trying to defeat efforts to create unified, tidy standards.

Complicated to follow what I wrote? I wonder how difficult things are for you...N7Kopper wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2020 9:56 am"My personal experience with a sample size of one user and only 10% of the Redump library obviously trumps the advice of the developers of Swiss!"

The goal is to help and that's what I did. You and no one will change my mind.
And I also recommend the administrator lock this Tropic.
Re: Nkit
I had a problem similar to 5 isos and managed to solve with this explanation of andross. and I also managed to play the PC Engine CD because of it. He and Ralf helped me a lot. just don't do it, easy like that.
Re: Nkit
That trick no longer work.
Re: Nkit
Are you talking about HxD? I was just removing the message. I think the discussion is about using GCMUtility. If you've managed a way to prevent use, I'm impressed.
Re: Nkit
Locking this topic.
If you want to shrink your ISO files, use nkit only on known good dumps, if Swiss tells you it's bad then it probably is.
If you want to play bad dumps, don't shrink them or enjoy the warning Swiss presents you with.
