want First build IDE-EXI
Dear Sirs
i have sd2sp2 and SD Gecko + QOOB mod for my NGC and i just got to know this IDE-EXI project in few days ago
it seems a very interesting project, so i want try to build this IDE-EXI sample
My prepared
1.download IDE-EXI project file "IDE-EXIdesignfiles.7z"from --> https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewt ... f=23&t=538
then i can use the Gerber file for build some PCB, and follow the BOM list for prepare elec components , Hand soldering components on PCB
2. follow the guide of "jtag Construction" for build Jtag programming cable and follow the guild of "Programming the CPLD" for programming XC95144XL(got from Sir "emu_kidid" post)
(or use USB TO Jtag adaptor for programming XC95144xl Clip)
attached all files what i prepared , is it enough for start the IDE-EXI build ?, if you know any thing i missed ,please free feel for let me know and if you have any suggestion please free feel for propose

Re: want First build IDE-EXI
You have everything needed, just use v2 source instead: https://www.gc-forever.com/forums/viewt ... =23&t=4843
For programming I recommend using xc3sprog and FT232H board, it's probably the cheapest USB based programmer out there.
I'm just hesitant to say wether I recommend building IDE-EXI yourself. If you are planning to use old, clunky IDE drives then you should know it's very inconvenient to use nowadays. Of course it's possible to use SATA drives with adapters but it ends up looking really bad with all the cable mess.

Re: want First build IDE-EXI
I'd recommend using flux and probably higher temperatures to make better connection. IDE header seems to be barely soldered in. Maybe consider posting in a single thread, no need to post photos in 3 different topics

Dears
i got problem for use IDE-EXI, Please any one help me you if have any idea
I finished my IDE-EXI board build but it can't working
use Xilinx DLC9LP usb programmer for programmed IDE-EXI-V2 and the programming was succeeded
my connection as the setup flow picture (NGC-->IDE-EXI Board-->80pins IDE cable-->IDE to SATA board-->HDD)
HDD Format FAT32, Copy Swiss 1086 to HDD
By the way ,my NGC can boot by sd2sp2

Re: want First build IDE-EXI
Your soldering looks really bad, you should work on the joints on the IDE connector. Does Swiss detect your IDE-EXI?
Re: want First build IDE-EXI
Seems my IDE-EXI board can work now
i can see the HDD in swiss by boot from SP2(attached picture)
i think the swiss also can boot from IDE-EXI ,right?
i had copy swiss to HDD but still can't boot from IDE-EXI
where i can find the IDE-EXI use guide?

Re: want First build IDE-EXI
At least the CPLD-EXI connection is working. Now you need to check if you can see the files on your HDD. There is no user guide because it's really simple. It works just like any other device, select it from device selection menu and choose ISO to run a game.
I'm not sure what you mean by "boot from IDE-EXI". It's not possible. If you have an IPL replacement modchip with something like iplboot then it's not compatible with IDE-EXI and you still have to boot Swiss from SD card.
