Question about USB Gecko

Not sure if this is the right section, move if needed.

I want to buy a USB gecko soon, but my tv is pretty far away from my computer.
Even if I get the gamecube as close as possible, there still 4 to 5 meters between it.
Is that to long for the gecko to function correctly?

nope. I'm using a 10m USB extender cable and it's working well :)

if its 10m i guess there's some active component in there?

Haha, i wanted to ask the same. Is your 10m cable an active or a passive one?
