LCD Jewel by Laser Bear Industries

Post by Tchoin » Sat May 06, 2023 10:06 pm

Anyone seen this yet? Looks interesting! Just when we thought nothing else could be added to the cube

From Laser Bear Industries:
It will support GameID, and work with anything that gets you booted into Swiss, it also will have a generic slideshow mode to work without.
Oh and install will be no cut with plug and play connections inside the console.

In fact, we already have so many options to add to it that we may not need more, even when there are still so much that can be done.

SD2SP1 maybe?
DMG/MultiFreq OC/EDGB/EZF Jr, AGB/SC miniSD, NTR/NeoMK3, USG/flashme V8/SC miniSD
DOL001(EUR)/RGB/GCPlug/GBP/SD2SP2, RVL 001(EUR)/RGB/CMP/WiiSD

Zelda WW with Tingle Tuner in split screen was what the GC RF modulator was made for! (Video)

I refuse to support a SD2SP1.

The potential of the Hi Speed Port is so untapped it's not even funny.

Has anyone heard anything lately on this? I know Laser Bear posted their roadmap blog post sometime around July. Wasn’t sure if there’d been any more information since then.

I’m really jonesing for an update on this 😀. When this drops and the M.2 Loader, I think that will be my push to dive into another GameCube mod.

Does the community have any updates on either of these projects? I try to keep up on both, but can’t find any new information on LCD Jewel and I don’t have a Twitter account so it’s kinda hard to keep up on M.2 Loader updates with no account and only using the web browser version 🤣. Last I could tell WebHDX encountered production issue on first run of boards?

Anyway, love the community!

M.2 Loader is still stuck on the production issues. I was so busy with life I couldn't really find time to fix it properly. There was also ETH2GC launch in the meantime etc. I hope to get it done soon. For the LCD Jewel it would be best to follow Laser Bear Industries but AFAIK in the last update they said they wait until new ESP32 MCU is on the market because once they migrate to it, we'll get much better video framerates.

Thanks so much @webhdx! Life is always most important, so glad to hear that’s coming first. I just wanted to make sure I hadn’t missed anything 😀. I try to stay on top of GCN news as much as I can, but same here with life, and just want to make sure I don’t get locked out of a pre-order or anything if I can help it.
